| ‘Out of Place Day to Day’ is a collaborative project between 11 international artists from London, Rotterdam and Athens. All the artists’ work will be presented as part of a multi-layered installation in Gashouder, Westergasfabriek. Inspired by an absurd world of human-like insects (or insect-like humans) in Victor Pelevin’s 1993 novel ‘The Life of Insects’, the show is a parodical reflection on how the artists see contemporary life in relation to our day-to-day surroundings. We might be similar to these insignificant individuals in the book, blindly constructing their own reality and hectically fabricating meaning for their lives. |
