Mauricio Lupini (b.1963 Caracas, Venezuela) lives and works in Rome. Lupini studied architecture in Caracas, photography in Rome and in 2001 received his Masters in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, London. His recent group exhibitions include: New Life and the Dream Garden, Fieldgate Gallery, London (2007); Sequence, De Roode Bioscoop, Amsterdam and The Space, London (2006); Tropical Abstraction, Stedelijk Museum Bureau, Amsterdam (2005); San Juan Triennial (Puerto Rico, 2004), Prague Biennale I (2001). In 2002 Lupini produced a video-installation TV show: Unidad de Habitacion for the exhibition Etnografía: modo de empleo, Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas. Lupini’s solo exhibitions were held at Museo Otero, Caracas (1999), Sala Mendoza, Caracas, (2000 and 1995) and Museo Jesus Soto, Ciudad Bolivar (1995). The National Art Gallery of Venezuela (GAN) published his book ‘Things to Consider Before Shooting’ in 2001. |
