Post-Punk non-narrative
The Callas’ temporary stage, instant, mobile and flashing, is just like their performance: 15-mins-of-fame. Their philosophy of ‘you can’t have it more’ always leaves the audience with an unforgettable memory. The installation elaborates the iconic hero of superhuman persona and also evokes their teenage dream of being rock stars. They create the Callas’ language through wall paintings, the kitsch objects and the fictional fans’ idolatry. Their artistic practice offers us a magical and musical experience as contemporary cultural pastiches and reflects on various aspects of Greek reality and the punk-glam-pop-garage-mod-D.I.Y groove of the 70s.
